A historical monument listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings, this beautiful construction dating from the 19th Century is adorned with a wonderfully decorated frontage.
The museum boasts a collection of approximately 2000 pre-Colombian archeological pieces unearthed during excavations in Martinique, as well as collections from Brazil and French Guyana.
Former headquarters of the military commissariat, close to the Savannah Park (former Place d’Armes), it is a reminder of the military presence in Fort Royal.

Inside, a permanent exhibition reconstitutes the creole life of the time. The temporary exhibits are also worth a visit.
